When you travel down the country roads in Jefferson County, the definition of poverty is readily apparent. Broken down homes and a general air of need permeates the area. One in five families lives in conditions in which their basic human needs are not being met. In response to this need, community members are coming together and have created the Fuller Center for Housing of Jefferson County, Ga.

Our desire is for all the churches in our community to come together to repair and refurbish the existing homes of qualified applicants, bringing them up to adequate living standards. We hope to begin by building four houses on land that will be donated by the city. Our first project was completed by Felton Miller and J.C. Farrington. They replaced the deck of a needy community member. Our current projects are to continue developing the board and volunteer committees.

Millard Fuller Corn Maze:
 

Kackleberry Farms located in Louisville, Georgia has chosen a likeness of Millard Fuller as their corn maze design this year. He was chosen to honor his mission and memorialize his years of work in giving to others. A portion of the proceeds from the corn maze will go toward the work of the Jefferson County Fuller Center for Housing. To visit the farm and learn more about this event please click here.

New Projects:

The Fuller Center of Jefferson County is beginning their third Greater Blessing Box project. The project will to be repair the roof of a mobile home that was burned during a kitchen fire. Fuller Center of Jefferson County will continue to focus on repairing and renovating homes for low-income families. They are in need of donations of materials and volunteers to help continue the work.

Our needs:

• Please pray for the continued development of our organization and that we will reach every qualified applicant in our county.
   
• Donors to donate monetary and in-kind donations.
   
• Skilled carpenters and licensed contractors to serve on the construction committee.
   
• Volunteers Committee members for Family Selection, Family Partnering, Resource Development/Public Relations, Church Relations, Finance, Construction and Volunteer Coordination
