I just now read a post by Georgia Luedi that was posted July 2009. My heart goes out to her as losing a loved one is bad enough without the pain that she is suffering. Georgia, Millard's legacy will go on forever no matter who notices it. I for one will never forget him and now owe him many thanks for two jobs, one with Habitat and one with Fuller Center. Not many people can touch your life the way he has touched mine. I will never forget him as long as I live, and I will do my part of passing on his dreams and spread love and hope everywhere I go. Georgia, I'm so sorry for your loss, but I got to think Millard is smiling about what's going on in Ohio.

Some prayerful thoughts which have come to me regarding Haiti include the fact that God is not in the earthquake, wind and fire, but is a still, small voice declaring His/Her unconditional love to all His/Her children in Haiti. God has never forsaken any of His dear ones in Haiti. He's holding them in the palm of His hand, guiding, guarding and governing them. The Word of God is there for all to hear, coming in many different forms, including the love, smiles and care of friends, neighbors, NGO's and millions of world citizens who are sending out their prayers and dollars. It's a time for renewal, progress and great blessing. May all the care workers receive the needed strength and endurance needed.

Since my daughter introduced me to the Fuller Center, we have been energized by Millard's life history and vision. Now comes the Haitian crisis, and we -- along with MANY in our area in various organizations (church, charitable, ...) -- are looking for the best way to help after our initial financial support to organizations we trust to get the aid to the people.

There are many Haitian members of the congregation my wife and I attend. I would like to seek sponsorship by my church of one or more of the homes proposed. However, when one member who has been a Haitian supporter for years (and was funding a school for computer training in Haiti long before this crisis) called, he was not able to get any specifics about where in Haiti the homes will be built. My subsequent attempt to find out was also unsuccessful. Is this information available now? Thanks, and God bless.

[From Fuller Center Staff:  Thanks for your note, Bill, and for your interest in helping Haiti.  At this time, the Fuller Center does not have an exact location for rebuilding in Haiti.  We are working out those details as quickly as possible right now.  You have been added to our e-mail list to receive updates.  Any others who wish to receive updates, please send a request to info@fullercenter.org or check our Haiti page often.  Thanks!]

It was nice working on another house Feb 3rd. It made the day less mournful. I'll be sending the best of the pictures that I took yesterday to the Fuller Center.

Hi to my FCH friends in Americus, I am writing to let you know that my mind has been on Millard today. He accomplished so much during his time on earth with us. I am delighted to have been a part of his vision for these past 7 years. Thank you to all of you for continuing his mission and giving so many folks the opportunity to help others in such a meaningful way. Oyee! Peace to you all, Cynthia

LEAD THOU US ON, KINDLY LIGHT!

On this first anniversary of the passing away of our most beloved founder president, Millard Fuller, we, the Board of the Trivandrum Fuller Center for Housing, vow to follow his footsteps in the light shed by the torch borne by him from above and to accomplish the mission of 'eradication of poverty housing' as envisaged by his humanitarian ministry. Good Morning! This is the day the Lord has made just for us, and I am going to rejoice, and be glad he did. I hope you will join me in doing so. I have some exciting news to share with you. Yesterday I was lead of the Holy Spirit to ask a friend if he would help me build a house in Haiti, and I acknowledged the trouble he had in his businesses last year. But when I told him the price of the house, he wanted to build two houses. I was reminded what Millard always taught us we must do, is to ask and it shall be given. This is why his ministry was so effective. Philippians 4:13 says: We can do all things through Christ who continuously gives us the strength. WE are on the move, remember this is God's Ministry, and he has our back. Seek, Ask, and Knock.

Thanks you so much for your [David Snell's] time and your sharing at the conference in Shreveport. It was so good to meet you in person to see you are the same in real life with having fun with this incredible ministry. Blessings to you as you serve. If I can be of asssistance, or our group, let us know as we are getting to learn the ropes as to where we fit into the whole picture. I did talk with Linda Fuller while at the conference and I am so hoping she will be able to make a trip to Grand Rapids before or following Indianapolis Build to speak to our ECON Club and some LARGE churches where this is interest and funding, and a book signing, etc.

What Kind of a Man?

What kind of a man...would have a dream that he held on to from the beginning to the end?
He must have been a man that read his Bible...Jeremiah 29:11 that God has a plan for your life and hope and a future.

What kind of a man...who I'm sure tossed and turned many nights, cared for a poor community that was dying and stepped up to bring it back to life?

What kind of a man...cared about the welfare of a child that moved from project to project, house to house and school to school? That cared for a mother who had a dream as a little girl to have a home of her own one day, yet lost that dream along the way, during the struggle of her life.

What kind of a man...could touch a mother's life when she was caring for her 27 year old son during his last days, making his dream for his mother to have a home she could call her own come true? What kind of a man...convinced people to leave their families behind and follow him into a community to build homes for families in need?

What kind of a man...touched strangers from all over the world, from different backgrounds, races and religions and made us feel as one?

What kind of a man...touched my life at the darkest time when it seemed that there was no daylight and no where to turn? Now, that I have added it all up, I know who this man was. A man with many dreams – some of which have been realized right here in my own community. I'm sure one of his dreams in life was to marry a mighty good woman – Mrs. Fuller.

And when we ask the question, “What kind of Man was Mr. Fuller?, I will call him a mighty, mighty good man and I am forever grateful God sent Mr. Fuller and his angels to help me and to inspire me to reach out and help others, too.

God bless you all,
