Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing located in Hammond, La., less than an hour from New Orleans and Baton Rouge in an area that is fast becoming one of the newest suburbs for both cities. Ginger Ford Northshore is The Fuller Center’s 50th covenant partner. Led by a Hammond CPA, David Danel, and his wife, Tamara Danel, Ginger Ford-Northshore Fuller Center estimates that the need in Livingston Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and St. Tammany Parish for decent housing exceeds over 250 homes. Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing focus will be new construction as well as rehabs through the Greater Blessings program.
Recent Project:
Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center partnered with Home Depot to help a family who recently had a mobile home fire that destroyed all their belongings. Fuller Center and Home Depot were able to help complete a small unfinished cabin and make it a simple decent liveable place for the family of four. Home Depot foundation provided a grant for the materials and also provided "Home Depot Team Volunteers" to work on the project. Click here to see more photos of the project.
Northshore Fuller Center merges with Ginger Ford Habitat for Humanity:
The Ginger Ford Habitat for Humanity and Northshore Fuller Center merged at the end of December, 2010 to be what is now known as Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing. Read the local news concerning the merger.
The combined organization will operate out of the current Ginger Ford Habitat for Humanity facilities at 955 S. Morrison Boulevard in Hammond. The current Habitat ReStore and Shop for Habitat will continue as normal with no interruption in hours or service; however the names will change to reflect the new covenant partner, Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing.
