Costs and Fundraising

There are two main components to funding the trip: the registration fee and fundraising.

Registration Fee:
Summer Rides - fee helps cover things like food, lodging, the support vehicle, your Fuller Center jersey, and a t-shirt:
Registration Fee - $200 (Due March 16th)
Late Fee - $300

Spring Ride - $100 fee covers the cost of lodging, all your meals, a t-shirt and a water bottle.

Summer Rides:
The second component is fundraising. To ensure that our ride impacts those in need, we've set an ambitious team fundraising goal of $200,000, and need everyone to pull their weight to help us reach it. We require all particpants going the whole way on either the West Coast or East Coast ride to raise $3,000 before the start of the ride. If you would like to ride both routes we will lower the requirement on the West Coast ride and set your fundraising requirement to $5,000. Riders just joining for a segment would need to raise at least $750 for each segment they will join.

However, we don't want you to stop there – We encourage you to set your fundraising goal even higher. Setting even larger goals – like $10k, $25k, or even $50k – will help you and your supporters think big. To show our appreciation for your fundraising efforts, we will give you a 2012 Fuller Center Jersey if you hit the $1,000 fundraising level before March 15.  Even better, if you raise $7,200 and designate the funds for "where most needed," you will be able to particiapte in a one-week Global Builders trip to El Salvador. Spring Ride:
We require that every rider raise at least $750, all of which will go towards building homes for people in need all over the world.  However, we encourage you to set your fundraising goal even higher than that if possible – The more we can raise, the more lives we can impact!

Don't let the fundraising aspect of the ride intimidate you - we have great tools and advice to help you reach it, including helping you send out letters, create a personal fundraising page and much more. Most riders discover they can raise more than they thought they could. Check out the fundraising guide listed among our rider tools.

If fundraising is the only thing holding you back, don't let it! We can work something out - contact us at bike@fullercenter.org.

Age Restrictions

Because of the inherent hazards of cycling and our communal lifestyle during the ride, we have the following age policy:

Riders under 14 may participate for a one-day ride if accompanied by their parent/guardian. However, we urge participants choosing to do this to use special caution and to be prepared to offer their own support vehicle as needed. As for anyone, experience riding a distance similar to the one they are undertaking is a plus.

Riders 14-17 may participate for any length of the journey so long as they bring their own chaperone, such as a parent, guardian, teacher, etc. We ask for at least 1 chaperone per 5 minors.

Riders 18+ are encouraged to join us as they are able!
